Today is a very memorable day in my life! 3 years ago Nathan got back from serving his mission. It was such a wonderful day and I will never forget it. I remember the excitement I felt, and how very happy I was that the day had finally arrived that my best friend was returning from his mission!
I wasn't even nervous until that day, but the nerves really kicked in! Especially when his flight landed and he was going to be coming down the escalator at the Idaho Falls Airport any moment! (The picture below demonstrates my nerves at that time. haha)
However, when I finally did see him and he said his hellos to everyone and gave me my "handshake", everything was absolutely wonderful!
Those two years that he was serving in Chicago, now, seem like a blur! He loved his mission and was an excellent missionary. He served with his whole heart and is loved by all those he served, served with, and under. I will never regret waiting for him! Through writing every week we grew closer together and got to know each other on a personal level.
I am grateful we still have those letters to look back on and cherish. I am also grateful, and forever will be, that Nathan chose to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have seen so many blessings because of it, and I know we will continue to through our lives.
Now... I also wanted to brag about Nathan (FOR JUST A MOMENT!) and tell you all what a smartie pants he is! He, once again, got straight A's this past semester! His current cumulative GPA is like a 3.97. He truly is one of the most intelligent people I know, and I feel blessed that he is my family's provider.
Love you Nathan!
