He Did It!

Well, this post might be a "tmi" one, but I have to share my joy! If you are not already aware, Eli has had a lot of trouble pooping. He poops about once a week, and that is with the help of prune juice (which he hates by the way!). Anyway, today he pooped all by himself!!!!!!!!! =] HAPPY DAYS!

Also, two nights ago he wore his first 3-6 month pajamas. He's just a little late! (He is 5 1/2 months) They fit him length wise, but he is just a little skinny minny, so they are baggy on him. However, there have been multiple people commenting on how chubby his cheeks are getting! Nathan calls him "Gangster E." haha.

My "Man Crush Monday"

Today is a very memorable day in my life! 3 years ago Nathan got back from serving his mission. It was such a wonderful day and I will never forget it. I remember the excitement I felt, and how very happy I was that the day had finally arrived that my best friend was returning from his mission!

I wasn't even nervous until that day, but the nerves really kicked in! Especially when his flight landed and he was going to be coming down the escalator at the Idaho Falls Airport any moment! (The picture below demonstrates my nerves at that time. haha)

However, when I finally did see him and he said his hellos to everyone and gave me my "handshake", everything was absolutely wonderful!

Those two years that he was serving in Chicago, now, seem like a blur! He loved his mission and was an excellent missionary. He served with his whole heart and is loved by all those he served, served with, and under. I will never regret waiting for him! Through writing every week we grew closer together and got to know each other on a personal level.

I am grateful we still have those letters to look back on and cherish. I am also grateful, and forever will be, that Nathan chose to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have seen so many blessings because of it, and I know we will continue to through our lives.

Now... I also wanted to brag about Nathan (FOR JUST A MOMENT!) and tell you all what a smartie pants he is! He, once again, got straight A's this past semester! His current cumulative GPA is like a 3.97. He truly is one of the most intelligent people I know, and I feel blessed that he is my family's provider.

Love you Nathan!

Beautiful Day!!

Today was such a beautiful day! Nathan, Eli, & I have been taking full advantage of it. Eli & I went on a few little walks together, then we went on one with Nathan, watched Nathan fertilize the lawn & level gravel to plant grass, we walked over to Grandma & Grandpa Johnson's home, and I watered my flower bed!

Don't you think Eli looks so cute in his hat?! It's already been such a great purchase!

So excited to go outside!
loving his new hat and sandals!

Watching daddy fertilize the yard

I can see many more days like this in mine and Eli's future. I'm excited for nice weather and sunshine!!

Whenever I think of summer, I always think of the song by Keith Urban called "Long Hot Summer". To be honest, I'm really not sure why. haha. it's just catchy.

I've posted the music video below if you want to listen to it! I don't watch the video, just listen to the song.

Easter!

Our family had a terrific Easter weekend for so many reasons!
1) Cydnee & her kids & Ben & Tay came up to visit
2) Nathan and I got to go to Grandma & Grandpa Adamson's house on Saturday for an Easter dinner.
3) The Easter Bunny came to visit our house!
4) We got to celebrate the Resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ
AANNDD...
5) We got to spend Easter evening with Nathan's family.

Here are some pictures!

Do you like his Easter shirt?

Excited for Easter morning!

Grandma tickling Eli!

Eli loved his basket! (a new ball cap & summer swaddle blankets

This picture was so funny because Nathan set our camera on a chair and started the timer so he could be in the picture, and every time he would sit down by us, Eli would look over at Nathan. We took like 5 pictures! haha.. The last one he was looking at the camera, but Nathan and I were laughing so hard that we look silly.

Nathan picked out my basket! He spoiled me!

The "Easter Bunny" got Nathan Captain Philips & the game Cover Your Assets

Thanks Grandma & Grandpa Sommers for the nice Easter basket!

Five Month Old Eli!

My sweet baby boy is 5 months old today! I CANNOT believe it! Time has gone by so fast. Eli has brought so much love and joy into mine and Nathan's family. We can't imagine life without him.

At 5 months, Eli is:
-rolling over, both ways!
-smiling ALL the time
-learning how to use his walker and jumper
-playing with his feet
-Starting to like his baby cereal more and more every day!
-pooping only with the help of prune juice (poor little man)

He truly is the sweetest little boy, and I am so lucky to be his mommy!

Coloring Easter Eggs

The Johnsons have a tradition where they color Easter Eggs every year before Easter arrives. They said they have been doing it for around 28 years! Now that is a long time! Anyway, with it being Eli's first Easter, he's not really into it yet, but we still had to document it :-).

Morg even got to join in on the fun!
The egg says "Eli" on it!

Even though there are a lot of fun activities and traditions for Easter, it is so important that we remember the true reason for the season. The Resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. How grateful I am for Him. Below is an excellent video to watch that explains how important Jesus Christ and the Resurrection is to each of us.

Surprises & Eli!

I am so blessed! I have the best husband, such a sweet son, and belong to two great families. Life is good ladies and gents!

Well these past few days I have received TWO surprises! First off, Nathan surprised me with a new box spring! Our old one squeaks so bad, and it was so irritating because Eli is in our room! Whenever we would get in bed, out of bed, or even just roll over in bed it would squeak really bad and annoy me. (For some reason it squeaked the loudest on Nathan's side of the bed. haha) Anyway, that is what we got for our anniversary! We replaced the old box spring with the new one, and it is HEAVENLY! It doesn't squeak at all, and it even feels more comfortable than the old one.

And my other surprise was a cedar hope chest from my in-laws! They got it for me for college graduation. It took them a whole year to decide what to get me ;-) It was a terrific surprise! I have always wanted a hope chest, and now I have one. Isn't it beautiful?!

Now for the cute little boy that brings so much happiness into my life! His aunt Amy was making him laugh, and I just had to get it on video!

Morgan's Bridal Shower & College Reminiscing

Today has been a wonderful day! Morgan's bridal shower was a total success and she had a lot of support. Thank you to all of those who helped and who came to support her at this exciting time in her life!! :)

Here are just a few of my favorite pictures from the shower:

Morg's Favors- such a cute idea!

Also, it's been a year today that I graduated from BYU-Idaho with a BS in Social Work. I will never regret going to school and getting my Bachelor's Degree. It has made me a better wife, mother, and person overall. I sure miss all of my friends I made in the program. I also miss my old roomies/friends as we have parted ways in life. Thank all of you for having made an influence in my life!
